Kot'olin is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the west of the island of Timor .

The district is located in the south of the administrative district of South Central Timor (Timor Tengah Selatan) in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur) on the coast of the Timor Sea . The sea is in the southeast of the district. In the west lies the Kolbano district , in the north the Kie district and finally the Nunkolo district in the east .
Kot'olin has an area of 58.94 km² and is divided into the eight Desa Kot'olin , Nunbena , Fatuat , Hoibeti , Nualunat , Panite , O'Obibi and Binenok . While Hoibeti is at an altitude of 237 m , Binenok is at an altitude of 871 m above sea level. In between are the other villages, even if the Desa Kao'olin, Hoibeti and Nualunat have access to the sea. The desa are again divided into a total of 22 desa. As in Timor, the tropical climate is divided into a rainy and a dry season .

Residents
In 2017 there were 11,749 inhabitants in Kot'olin. 5,661 were men, 6,058 women. The population density was 199 people per square kilometer. There are one Catholic and 14 Protestant churches and chapels in the district.
Economy, infrastructure and transport
Most of the district's residents make a living from agriculture. Cattle (1,801), horses (KUDA), buffaloes (KERBAU), pigs (4,522), goats (1,006) and chickens (3,681) are kept as pets. Corn is grown on 1,400 hectares, 71 hectares of rice, five hectares of cassava, five hectares of sweet potatoes, three hectares of peanuts and three hectares of mung beans. Other agricultural products are garlic, potatoes, carrots, beans, chilli, tomatoes, eggplant, spinach, avocados, mangoes, tangerines, oranges, papayas and bananas.
There are twelve elementary schools and four middle schools in Kot'olin. There are no secondary schools in the district. Only a community health center ( puskesmas ) in Hoibeti is available for medical care . In the other Desa there are no medical facilities, such as medical care centers ( Puskesmas Pembantu ) or midwifery centers ( Polindes ).
