discovery
S / 2017 J 5 was discovered by astronomer Scott S. Sheppard in 2017 . The moon has not yet been given an official name - the moons of Jupiter are usually female figures from Greek mythology - but is provisionally referred to as S / 2017 J 5 in accordance with the system of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).

S / 2017 J 5 orbits Jupiter with a major semi-axis of approx. 23.2 million kilometers in approx. 720 days. The track has an eccentricity of 0.28. The orbit incline is 164.4 °.
