LI S / 2010 J 1 (Read: "51 S / 2010 J 1") is one of the smaller moons of the planet Jupiter .
discovery
S / 2010 J 1 was discovered on September 7, 2010 by astronomers Robert A. Jacobson, Marina Brozovic, Brett Gladman and M. Alexandersen. The moon has not yet been given an official name - the moons of Jupiter are usually female figures from Greek mythology - and according to the system of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), it is temporarily also called "Jupiter LI".
Orbit data
S / 2010 J 1 orbits Jupiter with a major semi-axis of around 23.2 million kilometers in around 722.8 days. The orbit has an eccentricity of 0.324 and is retrograde with an orbit inclination of 163.24 °, i.e. that is, the moon moves around the planet against the direction of rotation of Jupiter.
Physical data
Based on the brightness of the object, the diameter can be estimated at around 2 km.
