| When 15-year-old Joscha Wieden discovered a corpse while fishing, it quickly became clear that it was his friend Kenny Oertel, who had been missing for six years. Together with colleague Dagmar Schnee von der Sitte, the old case is reopened. Florentine Bergmann, Kenny's supervisor at the time, is targeted. In her private life, Commissioner Ina Zimmermann worries about another teenager: her son Paul looks closed and is constantly on the phone.

| Ina Zimmermann's son Paul and his girlfriend Sarah are out on the lake, where they discover the body of a man. The dead man has battle marks on his body. At the beginning, the dead person's family is investigated. But when the investigators find out that the dead man's son, Simon, was forcibly adopted in the GDR, the investigation now focuses on two more people. On the one hand, Simon's therapist Dr. Krüger and on the other hand Katrin Rust, a woman who has been looking for her prodigal son for many years. Meanwhile, the Zimmermann family has a conflict as Paul's friend Sarah is pregnant and the two are faced with difficult decisions.

| Sabrina Rückert, who works for the logistics company Holger Becker, does not come home from babysitting one evening. When there is a ransom note, it becomes clear that she has been kidnapped.
