The first season of the German crime series SOKO Leipzig celebrated its premiere on January 31, 2001 on the ZDF broadcaster . The finale was broadcast on April 18, 2001.

Two robbers attack the Dahm jewelry store in Leipzig. When they want to flee, their car is parked and they have to switch to the tram. There they meet Chief Detective Trautzscke, who is on the way to his daughter and soon becomes skeptical about the behavior of the two men.

Thomas Mohr is murdered in an allotment garden colony on the outskirts of Leipzig. He had a quarrel with the club member Erich Willms about the way Willms' daughter and the deceased were treated. Chief Detective Trautzschke investigates undercover with the allotment gardeners and tries to get information.
