Bernd Gnann

Bernd Gnann (* 1973 in Aulendorf ) is a German actor , cabaret artist and theater director .

Life

Gnann grew up in Reichenbach near Bad Schussenried . After primary school , he attended St. Johann grammar school in Blönried . There he made his first acting experiences in the school theater in 1987 . He played several leading roles and also received an engagement with the cabaret ensemble D'Gallerie . Gnann's German teacher Thomas Beck, who also wrote folk plays and cabaret programs, supported Gnann and encouraged him to pursue a career as an actor.

Gnann completed an acting training at the State University for Music and Theater in Stuttgart from 1992 to 1995 . He had his first theater engagements at the Eltville am Rhein Castle Festival (1995, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet ) and at the Schauspielhaus Essen (1995/96 season, Filch in Die Dreigroschenoper ).

From 1995 until the end of the 2005/06 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel des Staatstheater Stuttgart . There he played a wide repertoire , which included pieces from antiquity , by William Shakespeare , the German-speaking authors of the classical period , but especially pieces from modern times and contemporary theater. Gnann also took part in several world premieres and German-language premieres. His roles in Stuttgart included: Pierrino in A Tomorrow There Isn't by Julien Green (1995/96), the title role in Peter Pan (1996/97), Leander in Die Geierwally (1997–1999, director: Martin Kušej ) , the journeyman in Andorra (1997–1999), Roller in Die Räuber (1998/99), Haimon in Antigone (2000), Trinculo in Der Sturm (2000), the insurance agent Konrad in Das Kalkwerk von Thomas Bernhard (2001), the Firefighter Guy Montag in Fahrenheit 451 (2001), Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac (2003), Cal in The Battle of the Negro and the Dogs by Bernard-Marie Koltès (2003), Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (2004), Schürzinger in Kasimir and Karoline (2005) and, at the side of Corinna Harfouch , in the world premiere of the play Herr Ritter von der Sad Figur by Christian Tschirner (2006, based on motifs by Cervantes ).

From the mid-1990s, Gnann was also seen in films and on television . In 1994 he shot his first movie Traumstreuner , directed by Erwin Michelberger ; In it he played the main role of the grandson Cheko, who accompanied his 70-year-old grandfather Felix on a trip on which Felix told the story of his escape from war and dictatorship in Switzerland .

This was followed by numerous leading episode roles in various television series, mainly in crime series, including SK Babies , Polizeiruf 110 , Balko , Ein Fall für Zwei , Berlin, Berlin , Der Alte and Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei .

In the film biography Schiller (2005) he embodied the role of the theater director Rennschüb. In the television documentary Die Deutschen he portrayed the historical figure of Duke Heinrich the Lion in game scenes . In 2010, he played the role of lawyer and family man Tim Berger in the SWR television series Alpha 0.7 - The Enemy in You .

He has had several leading roles in the crime series Tatort . In the Tatort film In Personal Custody , he was seen in 2008, alongside Richy Müller and Felix Klare as an investigator Jürgen Wolf; he played an undercover agent who gets into an exchange of fire with his colleague when they try to catch a drug dealer. In the crime scene episode Missed , a case by Commissioner Lena Odenthal ( Ulrike Folkerts ), he played a seedy private detective in 2009 . In addition to his work as an actor, Gnann also appears as a cabaret artist with his own solo cabaret programs. He developed the solo evening Die Made , with texts, songs and poems by Heinz Erhardt . In 2010 his new solo program Bernd Gnann's Heimatabend premiered.

In August 2009 Gnann took over the management of the Karlsruhe Chamber Theater . For over 10 years Gnann has also been active as a speaker and radio play speaker for the radio station Südwestrundfunk .

Gnann is also managing director of the regional broadcaster Baden TV .
