The sixteenth season of the German crime series SOKO Leipzig comprises 26 episodes and celebrated its premiere on September 16, 2016 on ZDF. The finale aired on February 24, 2017.

The season's episodes are first broadcast on Fridays at 9:15 p.m. and in some cases at 10:00 p.m.

As in previous seasons, three episodes of full length (90 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes of an episode) were produced with Wer Wind sät , Aus der Hölle and Chefsache .
