Sarah Rafferty
Sarah Gray Rafferty (born December 6, 1972 in New Canaan , Connecticut ) is an American actress . She is best known for her role as Donna Paulsen in the Suits law series .

Sarah Rafferty was born in 1972 in New Canaan , Connecticut , USA . Her father is Michael G. Rafferty junior, managing partner of FCM Investment Partners in New York; her mother Mary Lee Rafferty works as an English teacher at Sacred Heart , a private high school in Greenwich , Connecticut. Rafferty grew up in Riverside, Connecticut, the youngest of four sisters. During her high school years at Phillips Academy , she began acting with a role in Shakespeare's Richard III.
Rafferty studied English and drama at Hamilton College in Clinton , New York , graduating magna cum laude . During her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Oxford for a while . She then studied at the Yale School of Drama of the Yale University Drama and graduated in 1996 with a Master of Fine Arts from.
In June 2001 Rafferty married Santtu Seppala from Finland , whom she had met at Yale University. With him she has two daughters, who were born in 2007 and 2011. Because Suits is filmed in Toronto and Rafferty's husband, Seppala, is CIO at Kiitos Capital Management in California , Rafferty lives with her husband and children on both the east and west coasts of America.
Career
Sarah Rafferty has appeared in several plays in New York , including off-Broadway theaters such as the Second Stage Theater and the Lucille Lortel Theater . At the side of Kathleen Turner and Charles Busch she played in his play The Third Story . She also acted in many regional theaters, such as the South Coast Repertory in California and Shakespeare & Company in Kentucky , where she played Rosalinde in As You Like It .
For the series The Plays the Thing of the radio NPR she spoke to various radio plays .
Rafferty has had several guest appearances on television since 1998 after a supporting role in the television film Trinity , including, for example, in series such as Law & Order , Six Feet Under , Numbers or in Brothers & Sisters . With the role as Dr. Casey Matthews in the television series Tremors , Rafferty first played a recurring guest role in 2003. After further guest and supporting roles in series and films, Rafferty first received a leading role in the television series Suits in 2011 as Donna Paulsen , the long-time assistant and close confidante of the protagonist Harvey Specter , portrayed by Gabriel Macht . Rafferty and Macht have been good friends in private for more than 20 years.
