Sarah Janina Ryglewski (born January 31, 1983 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( SPD ), was a member of the Bremen citizenship and has been a member of the Bundestag since 2015 and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Finance (BMF) since August 2019 .

Ryglewski graduated from high school in 2002. From 2002 to 2009 she studied political science at the University of Bremen and graduated with a diploma in political science .

Ryglewski has been a member of the SPD since 2001. From 2006 to 2008 she was on the Jusos regional board and from 2008 to 2012 Juso regional chairwoman. From 2008 she was an assessor on the board of the SPD local association Neustadt and from 2012 to 2016 its deputy chairwoman. Since 2010 she has been deputy SPD state chairwoman . She is the spokeswoman for the consumer policy forum of the Federal SPD.

In the 18th electoral term she was a member of the Bremen citizenship from June 8, 2011. She was a full member of the Committee for Equal Opportunities for Women, the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into Hospital Germs, the City Deputation for Health and the State Deputation for Economy, Labor and Ports.

As a deputy member, she was represented in the Committee for Port Affairs in the State of Bremen, the Bremen Music School Works Committee, Youth Welfare Committee, State Youth Welfare Committee, Petitions Committee (state and city) and in the Legal Committee.

She was the spokeswoman for consumer protection matters for the SPD parliamentary group.

In 2009 she ran for the German Bundestag at number 4 and in 2013 at number 2 on the Bremen state list . After Carsten Sieling was elected mayor of Bremen in July 2015, she took over his mandate in the Bundestag as a successor. In 2017 she ran for the first time in first place on the list as a direct candidate for the Bremen state list and won the direct mandate with 29.8% of the first votes.

Ryglewski was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary in the Finance Department by Finance Minister Olaf Scholz in August 2019 . She succeeds Christine Lambrecht , who moved to the Federal Ministry of Justice as the new head in June 2019 . Ryglewski is currently the youngest among the state ministers and state secretaries.

Ryglewski is a member of the trade union Ver.di , the Arbeiterwohlfahrt ( AWO ) and on the board of the business and interest group (WiR eV) Neustadt. She is also on the advisory board of the State Center for Political Education in Bremen and a member of the editorial team of the spw - magazine for socialist politics and economy .
