Walchsing Castle
The Walchsing Castle is a small castle of the Dukes of Gor in Walchsing , a district of the municipality of Aldersbach in Lower Bavarian district of Passau .
history
The Lords of Walchsing are mentioned for the first time around 1140. The current building was erected around 1459/63, followed by a late Gothic extension in the second half of the 16th century, and the design of the hall on the upper floor was then made in 1569–1581. The three-story building with a half-hipped roof was restored in 1980 and serves as a hotel with ten guest rooms.
Building description
The castle is a listed building (file number D-2-75-114-76). The description of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation reads:
“Walchsing Castle: essentially late Gothic building from 1459, expanded around 1570/80; with equipment
