The castle Weideneck is an Outbound late medieval hilltop castle above a river valley near the village Tiefenbach in Passau in Bavaria . The castle site is roughly dated as late medieval . Only two moats have been preserved from the small castle. The place is protected as ground monument number D-2-7346-0024 "Castle stalls of the late Middle Ages and the early modern times (" Weideneck ")".

The wooded, two-part castle site is about 510 meters west-southwest of the Catholic parish church of St. Margareta von Tiefenbach or by the house at Am Schlossberg 1. It is about 330  m above sea level. NHN Höhe on a tongue of land facing south-west, which rises above a nameless tributary of the Gaissa , flowing west-south-west .

The east side of the castle complex was cut off from the fore area rising to the northeast by a ditch . The northwest end of this ditch flows into the Bachtal, in the south it runs out into the lowlands. The trench follows the crescent-shaped area of the outer bailey , which in turn depends on by an inner moat main castle area is isolated. This inner trench runs in an arch around the core area and is still ten meters wide, but only preserved in a strongly flattened manner.

The core castle area in the west of the complex rises eight to nine meters as a conical loess hill from the lowlands of the Bachtal. Its slopes are steeply sloped, its top has been artificially elevated. Its roughly triangular surface, rounded at the corners, has a diameter of around 20 to 25 meters. To the south and southwest, below this plateau, there is a four-meter-wide terrace step on the castle hill.
