Gammertshof Castle

The Gammertshof Castle is a former noble residence in Gammertshof in the municipality of Untergriesbach in the district of Passau . Today it is a farm .

history

The castle is a former noble seat of the von Vorholz. The current building from the early 16th century was built by a Passau salt official named Leonhard Gamertshofer (1525 to 1599). The Gamertshofer family had lived on the farm since the 16th century.

Building description

The property is a listed building (file number D-2-75-153-31). The description of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation reads:

“Former noble estate, now a farmer's property: two-storey, partly modified flat saddle roof building from the early 16th century; Tower basement on the south corner "
