The Schwarze Heide is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Diekholzen in the Hildesheim district .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG HA 121 is 10.7 hectares in size. It is located between Hildesheim and the Hildesheim Forest on the southwest slope of the Mühlenberg between the Diekholzener districts of Barienrode and Söhre . Due to the steep slope, the areas of today's nature reserve were previously used primarily as sheep herding and orchards . This allowed rough lawns and heather stocks to develop.
The area has been a nature reserve since September 24, 1987. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Hildesheim district.
