Sevilla is a commune ( municipality ) in the department of Valle del Cauca in Colombia .

Seville is located in the Oriente sub-region in Valle del Cauca at an altitude of 1612 m above sea level. NN , 156 km from Cali and 40 km from Armenia and has an average annual temperature of 20 ° C. Seville is located on the west side of the Central Cordillera of the Andes . The municipality borders in the north on Zarzal and La Tebaida in the Departamento Quindío , in the south on Tuluá , in the east on Caicedonia and Roncesvalles and Chaparral in Tolima and Génova in Quindío and in the west on Zarzal and Bugalagrande .

history
Seville was founded in 1903 by Heraclio Uribe Uribe as San Luis and settled from Antioquia and Caldas . The place became a Corregimiento of Bugalagrande in 1904 and a municipality as Seville in 1914.
economy
The most important branch of the economy in Seville is agriculture , especially the cultivation of coffee , which is why Seville markets itself as the coffee capital of Colombia (Capital Cafetera de Colombia) .
