East Timor announced participation in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in China Beijing eleven athletes in the disciplines marathon , powerlifting , table tennis and wheelchair tennis at. That would have made the team bigger than East Timor's team at the Summer Olympics . In the official records, however, there are no other athletes besides Liliana Da Costa Silva in powerlifting, who was also the flag bearer at the opening and closing ceremonies. East Timor did not win a medal.
