Sportsman of the year

The election for Sportsman of the Year takes place in many countries, with the winners being chosen in different ways, mostly either by sports journalists or by general public vote. In addition to the national, there are also awards at the state, regional or city level.

At the international level, the Laureus World Sports Awards have been presented to the World Sportsman of the Year since 2000 .

At national and international level, honors are also given in individual sports, such as Footballer of the Year .
