In January 2011 he went to HC Ambrì-Piotta in the National League A and signed a contract there until the end of the season. The attacker then signed a two-way contract for one season with the New Jersey Devils . Shortly before the trade deadline , on February 24, 2012, the New Jersey Devils transferred him to the Minnesota Wild along with Kurtis Foster , Nick Palmieri , a second-round suffrage in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and a performance-related third-round suffrage in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft to sign Marek Židlický . In addition to appearances for Minnesota in the NHL, he also came again and again in the AHL to minutes in the course of the three seasons.
