This is also where the next train station is located on the state railway line 202 from Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) to Gdansk.

Neighboring towns of Stara Dąbrowa are: Damnica ( Hebrondamnitz ) in the north, Łębień ( Labehn ) and Rębowo ( Rambow ) in the east, Nowa Dąbrowa ( New Damerow ) in the south and Zagórzyca ( Sageritz ) in the west .

history

According to the type of settlement, Alt Damerow is a small alley village . In Prussian times it was one of 18 royal villages that were under the Stolp (now Polish: Słupsk). In 1732 the following were noted for Alt Damerow: 1 Schulze, 6 farmers and 2 Kossaten . In 1784 there were already 10 farmers (including Schulze, who was also the royal wood-keeper) and four new farmers and two Büdner settled on the dismantled farm - with a total of 13 fireplaces.

Until 1945, Alt Damerow was a place in the administrative and civil registry district of Ramnitz (until 1937 Wendisch Karstnitz , today in Polish: Karznica), in the gendarmerie area of Velsow (Wieliszewo) and in the district court district of Stolp . It belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

On March 8, 1945, Russian troops arrived in Alt Damerow and occupied the place. Several farmsteads went up in flames as a result of tank bombardment. The Russians stayed in the village until the end of 1945, after which Poland invaded and expelled its residents.

157 villagers displaced from Alt Damerow were identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 126 in the GDR .

Old Damerow was renamed Stara Dąbrowa . The place is now part of the Gmina Damnica in the powiat Słupski of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (until 1998 Stolp Voivodeship ).

church

Before 1945 all residents of Alt Damerow were of the Protestant denomination. The village belonged with the places Deutsch Karstnitz (1938-45 Karstnitz , today Polish: Karżniczka), Ludwigslust (Sąborze), Mahnwitz (Mianowice), Neu Damerow (Nowa Dąbrowa), Sageritz (Zagórzyca) and Papritzfelde (Paprzyce) to the parish of Sageritz ( Zagórzyca) in the church district of Stolp-Altstadt (Słupsk-Stare Miasto) of the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Because of the great distance to the church village, services were often held in the Alt Damerow School. Behind the cemetery - on the way to Sageritz - was the notable forest church. The last German clergyman was Pastor Walter Borchardt .

Since 1945, the residents of Stara Dąbrowa have been almost without exception Catholic . Furthermore, Zagórzyca ( Sageritz ) is the parish seat of the now Parafia św. Józefa (St. Joseph) called parish in the deanery Główczyce in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland .

Protestant church members living here are now assigned to the rectory in Słupsk ( Stolp ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

school

In the two-tier elementary school in Alt Damerow, which existed before 1945, two teachers taught about 70 school children in two classes. The names of the last German teachers are Strelow and Vangerow .
