Stefan Bidner (born February 9, 1966 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian exhibition organizer. He is co-founder and artistically responsible for the art fair Parallel Vienna , co-operator of the Vienna Art Foundation, operator of the “Büro Weltausstellung” exhibition space and publisher of numerous art-related publications.

Life

In 1994, Bidner along with Thomas Feuerstein the "club media. Art. Tirol ”, which was dedicated to the focus on“ Intermedial communication transfers ”. In addition to his curatorial work, he assisted artists, including Peter Kogler and Hans Weigand . From 2004 to 2010 he was head of the Kunstraum Innsbruck institution . Since 2013 he has been co-operator of the Wiener Art Foundation, which operates three independent exhibition rooms in Vienna. Since then, Bidner has been responsible for one of them, the “World Exhibition Office”.

According to Bidner's name, Parallel Vienna was launched in 2013 together with Daniel Haider and Max Lust, an alternative fair for contemporary art in Austria. Parallel Vienna became a GmbH in 2015 and in 2018 was one of the largest art fairs in Austria with around 500 artists and over 18,000 visitors.
