Steven van Zadelhoff (born March 1, 1979 in Deil , Gelderland ) is a professional Dutch poker player . He won the Main Event of the World Championship of Online Poker in 2017 and then led the online poker world rankings for a week .

Poker career

Van Zadelhoff has been playing online on every major platform under a different nickname since 2006 . He celebrated his greatest successes as SvZff on PokerStars . At the end of September 2017 , van Zadelhoff won the Main Event of the World Championship of Online Poker there . For this he prevailed against 2182 other players and received a prize of over 1.6 million US dollars . Of this prize money, however, he kept only 16% (around 260,000 US dollars) himself, since he had sold the rest before the tournament started. Overall, his online tournament revenues are more than 11 million US dollars, making him one of the most successful players . From December 23 to 29, 2017, van Zadelhoff was number one in the PocketFives ranking, which lists the most successful online poker tournament players worldwide, for one week .

Van Zadelhoff has also taken part in renowned live tournaments since 2007 .

Mid-September 2007 took van Zadelhoff at the Main Event in London discharged World Series of Poker Europe on the 11th place for 40,000 pounds . A month later he was ninth at the main event of the World Poker Tour in Barcelona and received just under 70,000 euros . In June 2008 van Zadelhoff was also the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and occurred in two tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold 'em the money. Two years later, he finished eleventh in the Millionaire Maker of the 2019 WSOP and received just under $ 100,000. At the end of August 2019, van Zadelhoff finished fifth in an EPT Barcelona tournament and secured almost 210,000 euros. In mid-October 2019 he took second place at the main event of the Battle of Malta and received almost 220,000 euros due to a deal .

In total, Zadelhoff has earned almost 2.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments. He lives in Malta .
