João Paulo Pires Neffa Simão (born November 11, 1988 in Belo Horizonte , Minas Gerais ) is a professional Brazilian poker player .

Poker career

Simão has been playing online since June 2008 under the nicknames INeedMassari ( PokerStars and 888poker ) , joaosimaobh ( partypoker and Full Tilt Poker ) and galodoido13 (Americas Cardroom) . Its online poker tournament earnings are just under nine million US dollars , with the bulk of more than five million dollars on PokerStars was earned. From May 4 to 10, 2016, Simão was number one for a week for the first time in the PocketFives ranking, which lists the most successful online poker tournament players worldwide. He held the position for a total of four weeks. Simão has been part of the partypoker team since October 2016 .

At the beginning of July 2012 Simão was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . At the 2013 WSOP , he reached a Pot Limit Omaha Hi / Lo final table and finished eighth for just under $ 25,000 in prize money. At the beginning of June 2014, Simão finished second in the high roller of the Brazilian Series of Poker in São Paulo for the equivalent of around 85,000 dollars. In mid-January 2015 he won a tournament as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures (PCA) in the Bahamas with a prize money of more than 80,000 dollars. Overall, Simão has earned more than three million dollars with poker in live tournaments, making him the second most successful Brazilian poker player after Alexandre Gomes . From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Sao Paulo Mets in the Global Poker League and made it to the playoffs with his team.
