Daniel "Dan" J. Kelly (born March 10, 1989 in Fairfax , Virginia ) is a professional American poker player . He is two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Kelly studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University near Philadelphia . He lives in Potomac , Maryland, USA .

Poker career

Career

Kelly plays online under the nicknames djk123 ( PokerStars ) and imabigkidnow ( Full Tilt Poker ) . With five titles, he is third among the record winners of the World Championship of Online Poker . In early July 2008 was the first time Kelly at the top of the Pocket Fives rankings, which lists the most successful online poker tournament players in the world. He held this position for a total of eight weeks. Since 2007 Kelly has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

Due to his young age, Kelly was only allowed to participate in tournaments outside of the United States until 2010. In January 2008 he placed in the money at a tournament as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and at the end of May 2008 at the main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Barcelona . In June 2010 he was allowed to take part in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the first time and won a six-handed tournament in the No Limit Hold'em variant . For this he prevailed against 190 other players and received a bracelet and a prize of over 1.3 million US dollars . In late February 2012, Kelly made the final table at the WPT Main Event in Los Angeles and finished the tournament in third place for more than $ 500,000 in prize money. He reached two final tables at the 2013 WSOP and cashed ten times , including WSOP Europe and WSOP Asia Pacific . In June 2014 , Kelly secured his second bracelet and almost $ 200,000 in prize money by winning a Limit Hold'em tournament . His last live cash placement to date was in July 2016 at the 2016 WSOP .

Overall, Kelly has made more than $ 3.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
