This is a directory of street names in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund .
The directory gives the name of the street and (in brackets) the district. An explanation (year of naming, reason) for the street name is given. Because of the large number of streets, the directory was divided according to the first letters of the street names. Under "General" you will find the introduction and explanations of the street names in general.

- Haakstrasse
- Former street name, see Mönchstraße
- Hafenstraße (old town / harbor island or Franconia / Franconian suburb)
- In the 1860s, the Stralsund harbor islands were raised. As part of this measure, several roads were rebuilt. The port road is one of these roads and extends along the Stralsunder port.
- Hagemeisterstrasse
- Road laid out in 2005. It was named after the very important Hagemeister family from Stralsund. The Hagemeister was first mentioned in the city council around 1600. Heinrich Hagemeister was mayor from 1612 until his death in 1616 , Emanuel Hagemeister (* 1666, † 1738) from 1726.
- Hainholzstrasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
- The Heinholt was first mentioned in 1559. Obviously it was a fairly extensive facility, as it is reported that wild boars could be hunted there. In the 18th century the street Nach dem Hainholze is mentioned, on which half-timbered houses were built. When the street names were reformed in 1869, the street was given its current name.
- In 1628 Wallenstein's army camped here during the unsuccessful siege of Stralsund.
- Hamburger Strasse (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
- Named after the city of Hamburg . After the political and economic turnaround in the GDR, the residential area was mainly given the names of cities with which Stralsund was closely connected at the time of the Hanseatic League .
- Handelstrasse (Knieper / Knieper Nord)
- Named after the German composer Georg Friedrich Handel . The street is in the so-called musicians' quarter . There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
- Craftsman's Ring (Grünhufe / Stadtkoppel)
- Hans-Fallada-Strasse (Knieper / Knieper West)
- Named after the German writer Hans Fallada , who was born in Greifswald . In 1921 he lived for several months in Mönchstrasse in house number 12. His novel "Der Jungherr von Strammin" is set mainly in Stralsund.
- Hans-Georg-von-Arnim-Strasse
- This street was laid out in 2005 and was officially named Hans-Georg-von-Arnim-Straße in January 2006 . It was named after Field Marshal Hans Georg von Arnim .
- Hans-Rose-Strasse
- Former name of today's Lambert-Steinwich-Strasse .

- Heilgeistkloster (old town / old town)
- Heilgeiststraße (old town / old town)
- The Heilgeiststraße is one of the oldest streets of Stralsund and one of the longest streets in the old town. It extends from Knieperwall to the fish market . At the lower end (towards the water) there was once the Heilgeisthospital , which gave the entire street its name. Even after the monastery was moved, the street kept its name. Part of today's Heilgeiststrasse (between Kütertor and Mönchstrasse) was the seat of the Stralsund parchment makers and was called Permenterstrate , until 1869 Palmentierstrasse (Palmentier also comes from the word parchment).
- Heinrich-Heine-Ring (Knieper / Knieper North or Knieper West)
- Named after the German writer and poet Heinrich Heine . There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
- Heinrich-Lietz-Strasse (Tribseer / Tribseer Wiesen)
- Named after the Stralsund painter Heinrich Lietz . He mainly used landscape and maritime motifs from the area in his works.
- Heinrich-Mann-Strasse (Knieper / Knieper North)
- Named after the German writer Heinrich Mann . There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
- Heinrich-von-Stephan-Straße (Knieper / Knieper West, Knieper Nord and Kniepervorstadt)
- Named after the German postmaster Heinrich von Stephan (1831–1897). He visited Stralsund on October 12, 1888 for the opening of the new main post office building . The street in the Plattenbau area Knieper West III was originally called Kurt-Barthel-Straße and was renamed after the political upheaval in 1989/1990.
- Heinrich-Zille-Strasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
- Named after the German painter and draftsman Heinrich Zille , who was mainly known for his Berlin milieu studies. There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
- Hellmuth-Heyden-Weg (Knieper / Knieper West)
- Named after the Pomeranian church historian Hellmuth Heyden (1893–1972). He dealt primarily with the church history of Pomerania, including the church events in Stralsund, Barth , Grimmen and Franzburg .
- Helmuth-Graf-v.-Moltke-Strasse (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
- Named after the lawyer and resistance fighter against National Socialism Helmuth James von Moltke . He was involved in the uprising of July 20, 1944 . There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
- Henning-Mörder-Strasse (old town / old town)
- Herbert-Ewe-Strasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
- Named after the German historian and archivist Herbert Ewe (1921–2006). From 1952 to 1986 he headed the Stralsund City Archives . In 1984 he was given honorary citizenship of the Hanseatic city.
- Hermann-Burmeister-Strasse (Knieper / Knieper West)
- Named after the Stralsund biologist and explorer Hermann Burmeister . The house where he was born cannot be found in the street of the same name, but was in Böttcherstraße .

- Behind the Brunnenaue (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
- The Brunnenaue is a small park in Stralsund. Until the end of the 19th century, water was pumped from a spring here, which should contain healing powers. Even the establishment of a spa was planned at the time, but it was not successful.

- In the 1860s, Stralsund began to fill up the harbor islands. In this context, some new roads were laid. The Holzstraße is one of the streets that were created in the course of this measure.
- Hufelandstrasse (Lüssower Berg / Am Umspannwerk)
- Named after the German doctor Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland . There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
