Career

Galiardi began his career in the 2005/06 season with the Calgary Royals in the Alberta Junior Hockey League . For the 2006/07 season he moved to the ECAC at Dartmouth College . He spent the 2007/08 season quite successfully in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen .

On May 13, 2008, he signed his first professional contract with the Colorado Avalanche . In the 2008/09 season he was first used on the Avalanche farm team, the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League . During the season, however, he was appointed to the NHL squad of the Thrashers eleven times . On March 13, 2009, he made his debut in the 8-1 loss of his team to the Edmonton Oilers . He scored his first NHL goal on March 27, 2009 in the 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks .

On February 27, 2012, the Colorado Avalanche transferred him to the San Jose Sharks along with Daniel Winnik and a seven-round franchise in exchange for Jamie McGinn , Mike Connolly and Michael Sgarbossa . On October 3, 2012, due to the lockout before the start of the NHL season 2012/13, he signed a contract initially limited to four weeks with SC Bietigheim-Bissingen from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . On July 2, 2013, he was transferred to the Calgary Flames in exchange for a four-round suffrage in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft . After a season in Calgary, Galiardi joined the Winnipeg Jets in August 2014 .

In Winnipeg, Galiardi completed 38 NHL appearances before joining the Malmö Redhawks from Svenska Hockeyligan in Sweden in June 2015 . He left the team in February 2016 to recover from an injury in North America.

He completed parts of the preparation for the 2016/17 season with the St. Louis Blues from the NHL, from whom he had received a trial contract. They separated on October 1, 2016. Galiardi signed a contract with KHL Medveščak Zagreb , the Croatian member of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) , on November 24, 2016 . A year later he moved to Dinamo Riga within the KHL after Medveščak had withdrawn from the KHL. However, Galiardi only played a few games for Dinamo and was sacked in October of the same year.
