The Taiwanese U-23 national soccer team (in international competitions it appears as Chinese Taipei ) is a selection team of soccer players from the Republic of China in Taiwan . It is subordinate to the Taiwanese football association CTFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympics and the Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament or the U-23 Asian Cup. In their only participation in the East Asian Games in 2005 , Taiwan was eliminated in the group stage. The team took part in the Asian Games for the first time in 2018, but did not get beyond the group stage either.
Eligible are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Taiwanese citizens .
