The Tannenberg - Seelesberg nature reserve is located in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It extends south of Apfelbach and northwest, southwest, south, southeast and east of Walkes , both districts of the country town Geisa . The state road L 2603 runs north of the area and the state border with Hesse runs on the eastern and southern edges .
