The Alte Warth nature reserve is located in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It extends northeast of Gumpelstadt , a district of the municipality of Moorgrund . The B 19 runs west of the area and the L 1126 state road to the south .

The 86.1 ha area with the NSG no. 144 was placed under nature protection in 1995.
