The Rasdorferberg nature reserve is located in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It extends west of the core town Geisa and east of the core town Rasdorf . The state road L 1026 runs through the middle of the area in a west-east direction. The Ulster , a left tributary of the Werra , flows to the east and the B 278 runs along it . The state border with Hesse runs along the western edge and the B 84 to the west .

The 262.9 hectare area with NSG no. 231 was placed under nature protection in 1990.
