The Wiesenthaler Schweiz nature reserve is located in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It extends south of the core town of Wiesenthal . The B 285 runs west of the area and the L 1026 state road to the north .

The 38.3 ha area with the NSG no. 145 was placed under nature protection in 1990. It is part of the 14.55 km² large FFH area Ibengarten - Wiesenthaler Switzerland - Sommertal .
