The Ibengarten (Eibengarten) is a 56.1 hectare nature reserve in the Thuringian Rhön , in Dermbach , Glattbach district . It is located on the northwest slope of the Neuberg at an altitude of up to 530  m above sea level. NN . The tree population includes 368 yew trees , 50 of which are over 500 years old.

The Dermbacher forester Otto Staudt (1920-1936) was a pioneer of the nature conservation movement in Thuringia. He recognized the value of this yew occurrence and asked the authorities for understanding and support. Thanks to his efforts, the Ibengarten, the largest population of wild yew trees in the state of Thuringia , was placed under nature protection on January 24, 1938 on the legal basis of the Reich Nature Conservation Act (of June 26, 1935). This makes it the oldest nature reserve in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve and one of the oldest nature reserves in Thuringia .
