Taylor Hall (born February 20, 1964 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player , coach and current official who played 41 games for the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins in the National between 1981 and 1996 Hockey League on the position of the right winger .
Career
Hall spent his junior years between 1981 and 1984 for three years with the Regina Pats from his hometown in the Western Hockey League . There the winger made it in his senior year in the First All-Star Team of the Eastern Conference. In this year alone Hall collected 183 scorer points in 92 appearances . In addition, he had already been selected after his rookie year in the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1982 in 116th position by the Vancouver Canucks from the National Hockey League .
After Hall had made his debut for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL at the end of the 1983/84 season , he was firmly in the squad at the beginning of the following season. However, he only played seven games this season due to a knee injury. As a result, the attacker was no longer able to build on his previous potential. Between 1985 and 1987 he spent most of his time on the Vancouver farm team , the Fredericton Express from the American Hockey League . He then left the Canucks organization as a free agent and joined league rivals Boston Bruins in July 1987 . There he came in the game year 1987/88 but also not over a role in the farm team with occasional NHL missions.
During the 1988/89 season, after he was initially accrued in the AHL for the Maine Mariners and Newmarket Saints , he moved to Europe. There he played in the Italian Serie A1 for Asiago Hockey until the spring of 1989 , in which North American players were in great demand at the time. Nevertheless, the Canadian returned to the North American continent in the summer of 1989. The striker spent the 1989/90 season again in the AHL, where his employer were the New Haven Nighthawks . The following game year followed a one-year guest appearance in the International Hockey League with the San Diego Gulls . For the 1991/92 season Hall tried his luck again in Europe. There he played for the Mannheim ERC in the German ice hockey Bundesliga and Furuset IF in the Norwegian elite series .
For the 1992/93 season , the attacker returned to North America. The now 28-year-old let his career end in the following four seasons with the Tulsa Oilers in the Central Hockey League . With the team he won the Ray Miron Cup in the spring of 1993 . He played a total of 276 games for the Oilers and collected 267 points scorer before he declared his active career over in the summer of 1996.
Following his active career, Hall was immediately head coach of the New Mexico Scorpions from the Western Professional Hockey League . He held this position for two seasons before he took over the league competitor Corpus Christi IceRays in the same position in the summer of 1998 . There he was at the start of the 2000/01 season also general manager and oversaw the team even after the change in the Central Hockey League for the 2001/02 season . However, he made his position as head coach available during the season and left the team completely after the season. There was a one-year hiatus before he became President and General Manager of the Alabama Slammers from the newly formed World Hockey Association 2 for the 2003/04 season . Due to the dissolution of the league he lost these positions in the summer of 2004. It was not until the 2008/09 season that Hall reappeared and has since been the general manager of his ex-club Tulsa Oilers in the CHL.
