Klubi Futbollit Teuta Durrës , sometimes also referred to as Klubi Sportiv Teuta Durrës , is an Albanian football club from the port city of Durrës .

The club, whose greatest success is winning the Albanian championship in 1994, currently plays in the first division .

Teuta Durrës plays in the 12,000-seat Niko Dovana stadium .

history

The club was founded in 1920 under the name KS Urani , but already two years later it was renamed SK Durrës . In 1930 it was given its current name for the first time when Teuta Durrës played in the first championship . After the war, the club was named KS Ylli i Kuq Durrës in 1946 , and in 1948 it was renamed Durrës . He kept this name for only two years to rename himself Puna Durrës . In 1958 the club was named KS Lokomotiva Durrës and in 1959 managed to return to the first division. The descent after only one year was followed by an immediate ascent. Since then you have been playing in the first division. In 1991 the association got its current name back. After winning the only championship to date in 1994, Teuta Durrës played in the European Cup for the first time the following season. Four title wins in the national cup competition and two runner-up championships led to further participation in European competitions.
