Warren R. Porter

Warren Reynolds Porter (born March 30, 1861 in Santa Cruz , California , †  August 27, 1927 in Watsonville , California) was an American politician . Between 1907 and 1911 he was lieutenant governor of the state of California.

Career

Warren Reynolds attended St. Augustine College in Benicia and then embarked on a long career in banking, in which his father had worked. He started out as an accountant and rose to the boards of several banks. After his father's death in 1900, he succeeded him as President of the Pajaro Valley Bank . From 1886 to 1888 he also ran a company in the wood industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In the 1900 presidential election , he was one of the electors to elect President William McKinley for his second term.

In 1906, Porter was elected Lieutenant Governor of California alongside James Gillett . He held this office between 1907 and 1911. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After serving as lieutenant governor, he continued to work in the banking industry. He died in Watsonville on August 27, 1927.
