What remains tour -

The What Remains Tour is the fifth independent tour of the German singer-songwriter Madeline Juno .

background

The What Remains Tour was the seventh tour - the fifth as headliner - by Madeline Juno. This was a club tour that Juno took through 13 German cities from October 23 to November 7, 2019. The tour was first announced on March 8, 2019, shortly after the Acoustic Tour ended . Ticket sales went hand in hand with the announcement. Juno gave her first concerts in nine out of 13 clubs. She played in the Frankfurt Zoom for the fourth time, in the Freizeitzentrum West in Dortmund for the third time and for the second time at the Club Ampere in Munich and the Kulturzentrum Scheune in Dresden . Juno played her first concerts during this tour in the cities of Frankenthal , Freiburg im Breisgau and Osnabrück . The Hamburg company Neuland Concerts was won over as a tour operator .

The stage set consisted only of a few LED light strips and a large banner on which a cake with the inscription “Thank you for nothing” can be seen. Juno played the pop music part of the concert standing up, and she sat on a bar stool for acoustic performances .

At the beginning of September 2019, Juno confirmed that two concerts in Berlin and Hanover were already sold out. By September 23, 2019, two more sold-out clubs followed: Dortmund and Frankfurt am Main. The concert in Dresden was originally supposed to take place in the Groovestation, but was moved to the Scheune cultural center . In addition to the venues that were sold out in advance, there were also less attended concerts such as in Freiburg, where the Jazzhaus was only about half full.

Two different opening acts played during the tour. From the start of the tour on October 23, 2019 in Dortmund to the concert in Dresden on November 3, 2019 (9 concerts), the German- Irish folk and indie pop band Valery played in the opening act. The band consists of the three members Joschka Bender, Matthias Heising and Claire-Ann Varley. Juno confirmed Varley as opening act for this tour on April 25, 2019. The trio already played in the opening act of the previous Acoustic Tour . As on the previous tour, Varley again played a set of seven tracks. This time Bender - who is also active in Juon's live band - was on stage during the entire concerts, on the acoustic tour he was only seen on stage for the last song. The setlist itself remained unchanged with one exception. While the band played the Coolio cover Gangsta's Paradise during the acoustic tour , this was replaced by their own composition Disease . Five of the seven tracks were released as singles in advance, and Varley also presented two album tracks from their Phantom Studies EP with Deep Dark Sea and See You Naked . The trio thus presented all songs officially published to date.

The Swiss singer-songwriter Damian Lynn played in the opening act for the remaining four concerts, between November 4th and November 7th, 2019 . He presented the titles Clock and Winter , among others .
