West Arkeen

Aaron West Arkeen (born June 18, 1960 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ; † May 30, 1997 in Los Angeles ), mostly just West Arkeen , was an American musician , who was particularly successful as a songwriter for the US Hard rock - band Guns N 'Roses became known. Arkeen played a major role in the songs It's So Easy , The Garden and Pretty Tied Up . Arkeen also wrote songs for Asphalt Ballet and Brother Cane .

Born in France , Arkeen grew up in San Diego . In a single guitar lesson, he taught himself to play this instrument. In 1981, at the age of 21, Arkeen went to Los Angeles to pursue a musical breakthrough. After a few years of relatively unsuccessful survival in the local scene, he met the future members of Guns N 'Roses, with whom he remained closely associated from then on.

After the boom around Guns N 'Roses stopped in the mid-1990s because the individual members had fallen out, Arkeen founded in 1995 together with Mike Shotton (vocals), Jamie Hunting (bass), Gregg Buchwalter (keyboards), Joey Hunting (rhythm guitar) and Abe Laboriel (drums) his own band The Outpatience , in which he himself took over the lead guitar .

In late 1996, The Outpatience released his debut album Anxious Disease . Anxious Disease included guest appearances from Guns N 'Roses members Axl Rose , Slash , Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin . West Arkeen died a year and a half after the release of Anxious Disease in Los Angeles in May 1997 of a drug overdose , which is why the album would remain The Outpatience's first and last work .
