Empfingen is a municipality in the Freudenstadt district in Baden-Württemberg . It belongs to the Northern Black Forest region .
geography
Community structure
The former municipality of Wiesenstetten to which the village of Wiesenstetten and the hamlet of Dommelsberg belonged belongs to the municipality. The village of Empfingen belongs to the municipality of Empfingen on November 30, 1971. The Taha desert, which is not exactly localized, lies in the area of the former municipality of Empfingen .
history
Receiving was first mentioned in a document in 772 in the Lorsch Codex . It was owned by the Counts of Geroldseck until 1341 , before it came to the Counts of Hohenberg . These pledged the place in 1373 to a Volz von Weitingen. In 1356 the Reichenau monastery sold the Kelnhof Empfingen to Konrad the Stahler von Rottenburg, court master bishop Albrechts von Freising. It came to Jos Niklas II von Zollern in 1552 via various other gentlemen who acquired rights to receptions ; since 1576 it belonged to the Hohenzollern-Haigerloch rule , which was taken over by the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen rule in 1634 . Since 1806 it was part of the Hohenzollern Oberamt Haigerloch in the small state now elevated to the status of a principality, which became part of Prussia after the prince's abdication in 1849 .
From 1925 on, Empfingen belonged to the district of Hechingen in the Prussian quasi- province of Hohenzollernsche Lande . After the Second World War , the place was first part of the new federal state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern , which was incorporated into Baden-Württemberg in 1952 . In the course of the district reform in 1973, Empfingen came to the Freudenstadt district with five other Heching communities .
The current district of Wiesenstetten, which was also mentioned in a document in 772 in the Lorsch Codex, looks back on a history in Upper Austria and Württemberg ; before it was incorporated in 1971, it belonged to what was then the district of Horb .
Religions
As a Hohenzollern community, Empfingen remained Roman Catholic even after the Reformation and is now part of the Zollern deanery .

mayor
Albert Schindler has been mayor since 1986 and was re-elected in 1994, 2002 and 2010. His term of office ends prematurely on December 31, 2017 for reasons of age. In July 2017, the community searched for candidates with a video on YouTube . On October 15, 2017, Ferdinand Truffner was elected the new mayor of Empfingen with 85.8%.

Empfingen is connected to the national road network by the federal motorway 81 ( Stuttgart - Singen ). In addition, the federal highway 463 ( Pforzheim - Sigmaringen ) runs through the town.

Regular events
- The Swabian-Alemannic Carnival is celebrated every year in Empfingen . A court record from 1784 describes the "masqueren" going for the first time. The local traditional figures mostly come from the rural environment, such as the straw bear and the stuffed or piglet, which is related in type to the Wuascht or Wuescht of the Villingen Narro Guild . A rare custom are the soot witches who blacken the face of passers-by on Sooty Thursday (Schmotziger) with stove soot. The original masking was fabric curtains, still worn today by soot witches and stuffed people. Wooden masks did not find their way into Empfingen until between 1920 and 1930 with the figure of “Schantle”, and some of them were carved by the local craftsmen themselves. The Narrenzunft Empfingen has existed since 1951. After it was founded, it took over the traditional characters Kneller, Hexe, Schantle, Bäuerle, Bajass and Domino from the free, traditional customs of the local village carnival. The whip-cracking kneller comes from an old carter tradition. The witches originally wore the local women's costume and were out with oven forks on Carnival Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The guild of fools redesigned this old figure between 1952 and 1955 in order to save the traditional costume from ruin, as did the male traditional costume of the “Bäuerle”. The “Bäuerle” became the Osterbachmännle. Since 2005 there has been a group "Alt -empfinger Fasnet" at the fool's guild, in which all historical receptive carnival figures are represented.
- Beatparade, the only Techno Parade in Baden-Wuerttemberg and one of the largest yet conducted German techno parades.
