The TWIN.TV channel was founded on May 26, 2010. Various entertainment videos have been released.

Since March 17, 2015, the YouTube satire show World Wide Living has appeared weekly on Tuesdays , after which the channel was named in 2016. In the program, news from the YouTube scene is dealt with and satirically processed and supplemented with clips and formats with guests.

Formats

Main formats

YouTube Weekly Review (broadcast on Fridays)

The YouTube satire show World Wide Living Room (WWW for short) , named like the channel , formerly the most fun-loving YouTube weekly review! , is the channel's main format and was first released on Tuesday April 7th, 2015.

This format is a weekly review in which special, above all YouTube-related incidents of the past seven days are addressed and commented on. The show is moderated by channel founders Benjamin and Dennis Wolter. In addition, there are often prominent guests with short introductions.

The design of the WWW videos is characterized by fast cuts , short clips and a large number of video effects.

Do you recognize the song (broadcast on Tuesdays)

The format Do you know the song is a quiz show in which participants have to guess a song and artist. There are three participants each. The participants consist of one of the two moderators, a celebrity guest and a wildcard winner who is a spectator. Guests included Vanessa Mai , Alligatoah and other web video producers.

In addition, since October 4, 2018, there have been live shows approximately every three months, to which prominent guests such as Eko Fresh or Larissa Rieß were invited.

On April 25, 2019, Dennis Wolter described the format Do you recognize the song as her successful format.

The WAZ wrote about the format:
"[...] the guessing game" Do you recognize the song? "Or the" Hater Interview "generated from community questions, [...] [would] also be segments of a classic late night Do a good show [...] "

The TOP 5 ... (broadcast on Wednesdays)

The TOP 5 videos are a ranking show in which, in a 10–12 minute long video, a ranking from places 1 to 5 on a specific YouTube-related topic is presented.

The placements are commented on after the introduction by Benjamin and Dennis Wolter and other influencers such as CrispyRob , Freshtorge , Simon Will , Herr Bergmann and Klengan .

The TOP 5 video "THE 5 KRASSEST KATJA KRASAVICE MOMENTS! | # TOP5" was viewed the most.

The ranking and the corresponding video clips are created by the channel owners, whereby the occupancy of the seats often does not seem to follow any objective criteria.

Hater interview

In this format, the guests of the WebShow are confronted with a selection of critical or insulting questions and their reactions are cut into a 3–7 minute long video.

The first episode, which was published on November 20, 2016, shows the reaction of the YouTuber Marvyn Macnificent to primarily discriminatory and insulting questions to or about himself . The format appears irregular.

The entertainment value of the show lies in the humorous or quick-witted answers of the respective YouTuber.

Since it was first published , several personalities such as YouTubers Liont , Rezo , Herr Bergmann , Kelly MissesVlog , HandOfBlood , Die Lochis , MontanaBlack and Aaron Troschke (aka. Hey Aaron !!!) have undergone the hater interview .

In the program, which was broadcast live on the TV channel One and on the YouTube channel on May 9, 2020, the 41 songs were presented in the form of music videos and made available for tele and online voting, although it was not possible to vote for Germany . Together with the one hundred-member Eurovision jury from Germany, the top 10 were drawn up. These will then compete against each other at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 - the German final live from the Elbphilharmonie on May 16, 2020 on Das Erste .

criticism

The World Wide living room was criticized by the newspaper Die Welt . The channel offers “more bad taste than information content”, for example videos with “sexist comments” had to be removed.

The public multi-channel network funk had videos with the category That one can still say in April 2017 removed. According to funk, the video producers did not deal critically enough with sexist comments.

In October 2018, Matthias Schwarzer criticized the format Hater-Interview in the Neue Westfälische : “ Indeed, the question arises what minute-long body shaming and insults [...] are actually doing in public broadcasting. “After the latter criticism, Dennis and Benjamin announced a realignment of the format.
