When Emma gave advice to the caller Sofia, she left her fiancé, firefighter Patrick Sullivan. This wants revenge on Emma. When a hacker friend of mine accesses your data via the Internet, he lets them enter a fictional wedding between Emma and Patrick in their digital files. When Emma and Richard want to order the line-up, they both learn that Emma is supposedly already married. Emma is now forced to visit Patrick and have the marriage declared invalid. It turns out that at a cake tasting for Emma's wedding, Patrick and Emma ignorantly get to know the wife of the investor from Richards Verlag, who wants to close it. Both pretend to be a couple.

At the upcoming book presentation by Emma, Patrick and Richard inevitably get mixed up. Emma introduces the confused Richard as her brother, while Patrick jokes with the investor, who later extends Richard's contract. Patrick then invites the investor couple to an Upanayanam party for his landlords, where Patrick and Emma get closer.

When Patrick wants to bring the forms over to Emma to solve the fictitious wedding, he asks her on what basis she is giving her advice. Then he kisses her in the elevator and hands her the papers. After careful consideration, Emma wants to call off Richard's wedding and she spends the night with Patrick. The next morning she discovers articles about herself and the wedding invitations from Sofia and Patrick in his trash can. Based on her discoveries, she assumes that Patrick is only playing one game with her, and she rushes off. Patrick confesses to her that he wanted to take revenge on her for advice that led to his separation from Sofia, but then fell in love with her. Emma returns to Richard and plans the wedding with him, but she realizes that she loves Patrick - whereupon she sets off the fire alarm in the church and expressly requests Patrick's unit for action. reception

Stella Papamichael wrote for the BBC on February 26, 2008 that the comedy was so "hopelessly twisted" that it was asking too much to devote ninety minutes to it. It shows that Thurman is best at portraying cool characters, while here one demands a change of image from her. The script was written half-heartedly.

Anthony Quinn wrote in The Independent on February 29, 2008, even the previous "pathetic work" (dismal pedigree) by the director and the screenwriter did not prepare for "this shock". The plot shows "unbearable stupidity" (insufferable silliness) . The portrayal of Uma Thurman seems "through and through wrong".

The editorial team of Cinema judged: “Comedic moments of glory may look different, but director Griffin Dunne (“ In Matters of Love ”) and his relaxed actors give the very predictable plot charm. Belly people like Patrick will have fun with such carefree kitsch stupidities. Conclusion: Romantic comedy from the Hollywood kit - with an extra cute trio of leading actors. "
