Template:Spanish name Bartolomé "Tintín" Márquez López (born 7 January 1962 in Barcelona, is a retired Spanish football and current manager of Eupen in the Belgian Second Division.

Playing career

He began playing football at FC Martinenc, in Barcelona, from where he was signed by RCD Espanyol, in early 1980s. At Espanyol he played most of his career as a professional footballer but before playing for the first team he went out on loan at Sant Andreu (1980–1981 season) and later at Sabadell (1981–1982).

He came back after those short spells at lower Catalan clubs in 1982 and remained at the club for six season in Primera División. During that time, playing as a midfielder, scored a total of 29 goals in the 140 games he played wearing the blanquiazul. One of his best memories while playing for Espanyol is the hat-tick he scored against FC Barcelona, in a match at which the pericos won for 5–3.[1]

In 1988, the club reached the final at the UEFA Cup but at that point, then-manager Javier Clemente didn't count with Márquez so Tintín left the club when the season ended. After that huge disappointment, he went to Alt Empordà and played six seasons at UE Figueres, in Segunda División.

Coaching career

Marquez began his managing career in 1997, at CE Europa in Tercera División. His debut couldn't have been better, as he won the Catalonia Cup against FC Barcelona in the final.

Later on he began coaching at the youth teams of Espanyol. Year after year he kept going up at the several ranks (cadete, juvenil and Espanyol B) until he finally reached the first team, in 2004, first as second coach of Miguel Ángel Lotina and two years later of Ernesto Valverde.

After Txingurri left the club, he became Espanyol's first team manager.[2]
