Kevin Möhwald (born July 3, 1993 in Erfurt ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with SV Werder Bremen .

Career

Möhwald learned to play football in the Rot-Weiß Erfurt youth team . In the B-Youth he played in the Junior Bundesliga in 2009/10 and was also used once in the A-Youth. This was relegated that season, but managed to get back up with him the following year.

The defensive midfielder got a long-term sponsorship contract early on, and in his last year of youth he was accepted into the professional squad of the third division team with shirt number 14. He was on the bench a few times in the 2010/11 season. On the last matchday before the winter break of the 2011/12 season, he came in the Thuringian derby against FC Carl Zeiss Jena as a substitute for his first professional appearance. In the second half of the season he played twice for the league team and was substituted into the professional team on four of the last five days of the season. In the 2012/13 season he was a permanent member of the professional team and played 35 of the 38 games. In 2013/14 he was in the first twelve games and was then appointed to the German U-20 national team for the four-nation tournament in the Netherlands in October 2013 ; he was used in the games against the Netherlands and the Czech Republic .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg on a free transfer . He made his competitive debut for the club on matchday 1 in the 3-6 defeat against SC Freiburg as a right-back. He also scored his first second division to mean 4: 1. At the end of the season, the Franconians landed in third place. The associated relegation was lost to Eintracht Frankfurt . At the end of season 2017/18 Mohwald rose with 1. FC Nuremberg as runner-up in the Bundesliga on.

Nevertheless, he moved to Werder Bremen for the 2018/19 season , where he signed a three-year contract. For Bremen he scored his first Bundesliga goal on December 7, 2018, the 14th matchday, in a 3-1 home win against Fortuna Düsseldorf .
