Yūya Ōsako ( Japanese 大 迫 勇 也 , Ōsako Yūya ; born May 18, 1990 in Kaseda , Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player . He is under contract with Werder Bremen .

Career

In early January 2014, Ōsako signed a contract with TSV 1860 Munich until June 2016 to strengthen the second division team as a striker from the second half of the season . He was used in 15 games and scored six goals. For the 2014/15 season he moved to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Köln . On August 30, 2014, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga in the game against VfB Stuttgart . For the season 2018/19 Osako moved to Werder Bremen .

National team

Ōsako made his debut on July 21, 2013 in a 3: 3 win against China in the jersey of the Japanese national team . He was named to the squad for the 2014 World Cup , where he was used in two of the three games the Japanese team played before he was eliminated.

Four years later, Ōsako was again part of the Japanese squad for the 2018 World Cup . In the opening game, he headed a corner to make it 2-1 against Colombia. At the beginning of 2019 he was also called up for the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates . During the tournament he scored a total of 4 goals and moved into the final with his team , where they lost 3-1 to the Qatari selection.
