Nick Woltemade (born February 14, 2002 in Bremen ) is a German football player on the position of a striker . He is under contract with Werder Bremen and is a young German national player.
Career
society
Nick Woltemade began his career at the Bremen district club TS Woltmershausen , where he played handball as well as football . In 2010 he moved to the Werder Bremen youth department . Here he was able to draw constant attention to himself in the youth teams. On October 26, 2019, Florian Kohfeldt , coach of the Hanseatic first team, called the young striker into the matchday squad for the first time. Woltemade was not used in the 2-2 away draw against Bayer 04 Leverkusen . As a result, he was continuously introduced to the first team and trained regularly with the professionals. At the beginning of 2020 he was part of the winter training camp on Mallorca . Without even playing once in the U23 team, Woltemade made his debut on February 1, 2020, the 20th matchday of the 2019/20 season , in the away game against FC Augsburg in the Werder Bremen starting line-up. In the 1: 2 defeat he was replaced in the 58th minute by Fin Bartels . At this point he was 17 years and 352 days old. With this mission he replaced Thomas Schaaf as the youngest Werder player, who was a day older when he made his debut on April 18, 1979.
Parallel to his commitment to the professionals, the attacker will continue to be used in the A-youth. The Bundesliga season ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic with Werder as the winner of the North / Northeast season, he also scored the most goals of the season (16) and seven assists .
National team
Woltemade has so far been used in 15 games for the DFB's junior teams . With the U17 he took part in the EM 2019 and was eliminated with her in the group stage.
