Davy Klaassen (born February 21, 1993 in Hilversum , Netherlands ) is a Dutch football player . The attacking midfielder is under contract with Werder Bremen .
Career
Davy Klaassen joined the amateur club HVV de Zebra's during his childhood in Hilversum , before moving to the Ajax Amsterdam youth academy via HSV Wasmeer . He made his professional debut on November 22, 2011 in a group game in the UEFA Champions League against Olympique Lyon . Five days later, Klaassen made his debut as a substitute in the away game against NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie and scored his first goal shortly after his acquisition. He won the Dutch championship with the Amsterdam team in 2013 and 2014, and shortly after the end of the 2013/14 season, Davy Klaassen was named Talent of the Year in the Netherlands. On December 17, 2015, he played his 100th competitive game for the Ajacieds in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League against Celtic Glasgow . At the end of the 2015/16 season, Ajax became runner-up for the second time in a row, for which Davy Klaassen won the Golden Boot , which is awarded to the best player in the Eredivisie. In the 2016/17 season he reached the final of the UEFA Europa League with Ajax Amsterdam , in which they lost to Manchester United .
In the 2017/18 season , Klaassen moved to Everton in the Premier League , but could not prevail and only made seven appearances in the league. For the 2018/19 season, Klaassen moved to the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen .
Klaassen played for various Dutch youth national teams. On March 5, 2014, he made his debut in the senior team .
