final

Rapid and Vienna faced each other in the eleventh Austrian Cup final. Although only seventh in the championship, the latter went into the final on a par with the champions Rapid due to recent performances. This was played on a Thursday in front of 35,000 spectators in the Vienna stadium, the Hohe Warte. The Döblinger got off to a better start and led after a combination of Gschweidl-Giebisch and a header from Gerhold to Studenik-Corner with 2-0. Rapid pressed and came to the connection goal by Kaburek, but had to accept a counter goal, although Kirbes was able to dust off to the final score of 2: 3. Vienna won the ÖFB Cup for the first time in its third final. This was presented to Captain Pepi Blum by Austria's President Wilhelm Miklas.
