Bridgehampton 500 km race 1964, 2nd race
The 500 km race of Bridgehampton , also Bridgehampton Double 500 (500 km Race for FIA Grand Touring Category, and for the GT Prototype, SCCA Modified and FIA Appendix C Sports Cars +1600 cc), Bridgehampton , was 1964 in two races extended. The vehicles in the classes up to 2-liter cubic capacity were launched on September 19. One day later, on September 20, the GT racing cars up to and including 3-liter displacement took off.
The race
The race of the GT cars ended with a surprise. Against the strong competition of the Ferraris of the North American Racing Team and the Shelby Cobras , which were reported by Carroll Shelby International , Walt Hansgen won on a Scarab .
