The SangSom 6-Red World Championship 2010 was an invitation tournament in Six-Red-Snooker , which was held from July 19 to 24, 2010 at the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok . In the previous two years there was already an international tournament in the Six-Red format at the same location, this year it was the first time it was the 6-Red World Championship .
In 2009 Jimmy White had won the World Grand Prix. This time he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The winner was Mark Selby , who defeated the 2008 winner Ricky Walden 8: 6 in the final.
The first four of the eight groups went into the main tournament. In the first round, the eight group winners were drawn against the eight group fourths, the eight group runners-up played against the third-placed. The 6 Red World Champion was determined in the top 32 elimination tournament.
The world ranking Ninth Mark Selby was favored against the number 20 Ricky Walden . But he had already won the tournament in the same place two years earlier. Even so, Selby had the better start and started the final with a 3-1 lead. Walden was able to make the connection to 3: 4, but then Selby won three frames in a row and was one frame before the victory. Walden countered again and also managed three wins in a row, but ultimately Selby finished to 8: 6 and secured the title.
