Alexander Hoffelner

Alexander Hoffelner (* 1990 in Klosterneuburg ) is an Austrian actor , speaker and theater educator.

Life

Hoffelner grew up in Höflein on the Danube , attended the grammar school in Klosterneuburg and the Higher Education Institute for Tourism HLTW XIII Vienna-Bergheidengasse and then studied history and completed a teaching degree (history and social studies / political education and geography and economics) at the University of Vienna and from Swansea University ( Wales ). He also received acting lessons from Norbert Holoubek and Alice Mortsch, as well as singing lessons from Rita Nikodim and Brigitte Berger-Görlich.

He took his first professional steps on a stage at the association teatro in the field of music theater , where he among other things, Zettel in Midsummer Night's Dream , Shirkan in the jungle book , the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz and Bill Sikes in Oliver Twist in places like the bed spring factory in Oberwaltersdorf , the city ​​theater Mödling , the Wiener Musikverein and the Stadthalle Wien .

In the summer of 2014 he made his debut at the Reichenau Festival in the world premiere of Nicolaus Hagg's play “1914 - Zweiwege in den Untergang”, where he could also be seen in important roles in 2015 and 2016 and will appear again in 2021. He himself repeatedly developed radio plays (including for Ö1, Radio Play Summer Leipzig ...) and short films as an author and producer. Hoffelner has been a member of the Schedlfrey improvisation theater group since 2012. In 2016 he founded "kubus twenty" together with Simon Schober, their own association for the implementation of artistic projects of all kinds. Together with the Wienerlied musician Christian Tesak, he developed and played Viennese lied and literary evenings throughout Austria.

Furthermore, Hoffelner teaches children, young people and adults in workshops in the field of drama, musicals and improvisation and is a lecturer for improvisation at the Performing Academy in Vienna.

Since 2017 he has been a university assistant at the Center for Teacher Education at the University of Vienna and researches in the areas of “ theater education”, “educational improvisation” and “ political education and maturity”. He also trains prospective teachers at the University of Vienna and works in teacher training at the University of Education in Vienna , Lower Austria , Upper Austria , Styria , Salzburg and Vorarlberg as well as at the KPH Vienna-Krems .

In 2017 he wrote his first play, in which he also took on two leading roles .

He lives in Vienna.
