Anton Jakob Josef Eugen Beck (born January 27, 1857 in Karlsruhe ; † September 29, 1922 there ) was a lawyer in the Baden state service since 1881 and was a member of the Reichstag from 1898 to 1914 .

Anton Josef Beck was the son of Anton Beck (born January 11, 1805 in Oberhaben , † December 2, 1876 in Karlsruhe), a councilor in the government of the Middle Rhine District , and Ulrich, born Maria Klara. Since July 20, 1885 he was married to Elise nee Conradt (* July 17, 1861), daughter of the shipowner Christian Friedrich Conradt († 1874 in Pforzheim) and Emma nee hat maker. There were four children from this marriage: Walter (born August 12, 1886 in Mosbach ), later Dr.-Ing. and government builder , Maria (born November 28, 1889 in Lörrach ), Heinz (born October 23, 1891 in Karlsruhe ; † 1916) and Kurt (* 1891; † 1892). Beck was a Catholic denomination.

Life

After graduating from high school in Karlsruhe in 1876, Beck studied law at the University of Freiburg from the winter semester 1876/77 and at the University of Heidelberg from the winter semester 1879/80 , where he passed his exams. During his studies in 1876 he became a member of the Alemannia Freiburg fraternity . From December 1, 1881 he became a legal intern and trainee at the Karlsruhe District Court and then at the St. Blasien District Court . On February 4, 1882 he became an actuary at the Karlsruhe district court and from December 5, 1882 secretary at the Karlsruhe district court . After further positions at the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court , the Durlach district office and the Tauberbischofsheim district office , he became a service administrator at the Schönau district office on September 30, 1884 and then at the Freiburg district office . On November 3, 1884, he took up service at the Ministry of Justice, Culture and Education.

From 1898 to 1914 Beck Member of the Reichstag for the National Liberal Party in the constituency 12 ( district office Heidelberg , district office Eberbach and district office Mosbach ). In the Reichstag he was an advisor for the postal budget.
