Ardicino della Porta
Ardicino della Porta (also: Ardicino della Porta the Younger ; * 1434 in Novara , † September 4, 1493 in Rome ) was Bishop of Aléria , appointed administrator of Olomouc and cardinal of the Roman Church .
Church career
Ardicino was Bishop of Aléria in Corsica . After his uncle Giovanni Battista Cibo was elected Pope in 1484 , he elevated Ardicino della Porta to cardinal on March 4, 1489 and gave him the titular church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo in Rome.
On June 3, 1489, the Pope appointed Ardicino della Porta administrator of Olomouc, although the previous administrator Johann Filipec was still in office. The Olomouc cathedral chapter was not involved. The Pope invoked his right of appointment after he had agreed to the resignation requested by Johann Filipec. This appointment only concerned the benefices associated with the office . Ardicino della Porta never entered the territory of the Olomouc bishopric. In 1492 he gave up the office.
