Arnsdorf is a district of the town of Jessen (Elster) in the Wittenberg district of Saxony-Anhalt .

Location and accessibility

Arnsdorf is about 2 km north of the city of Jessen and is connected to it via Leipaer Straße (K 2235). To the east of the village is the Glücksburg Heath, a designated nature reserve .

history

As a settlement, Arnsdorf was first mentioned in documents in 1377 under the name Arnsdorph . Since then, the place name has been subject to constant change. In 1419 the place was called Arnstorff and was renamed again in 1454, this time in Arnsturf , before it appeared in documents from 1505 and 1685 as Arnsdorff and ultimately as Arnsdorf . After the Congress of Vienna , Arnsdorf was part of Prussia .
